Christina Gutowski, M.D.
Dr. Gutowski is an orthopedic oncology surgeon at Cooper University Healthcare in Camden, NJ. She was born in Princeton, NJ and attended the University of Virginia, where she double majored in Biology and Economics. Her medical school training was completed at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She then completed an orthopedic oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. She has been in practice at Cooper since 2017. Shortly after, the institution joined the MD Anderson Cancer Center Clinical Network. She enjoys caring for patients with benign and malignant tumors of bone and soft tissue, as well as those in need of complex joint/limb reconstruction due to trauma, infection, or failed prior surgery. She is also the proud mother of two young boys: ages 2.5 years and 1 year (at the time of this meeting).
Brian Neuman, M.D.
Dr. Neuman is a board certified orthopedic spine surgeon with over 11 years of experience specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex spinal disorders. He is renowned for his expertise in complex reconstructive surgeries for both adult and pediatric spinal conditions, as well as in performing challenging revision spine procedures. His research program closely aligns with his clinical focus on managing complex spinal deformities. He has an exceptional record of academic achievement, with 120 peer-reviewed manuscripts to his credit, including numerous first author and senior author publications in top tier spine journals. His research addresses critical aspects of adult spinal deformity, exploring predictors of complications and mortality, the impact of general health conditions such as obesity, frailty, mental health issues, and sarcopenia, as well as cost analyses of major deformity surgeries. He has also examined the role of opioids and assessed patient reported outcomes using POMIS (Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System). The significance of Dr. Neuman's contributions was recognized with the prestigious Russell Hibbs Best Clinical Research Presentation award at the 56th Annual Meeting of the Scoliosis Research Society in 2021. In addition to his clinical and research achievements, Dr. Neuman is deeply committed to program development and advancing the field of orthopedic surgery. During his tenure at Johns Hopkins, he served as Medical Director for the Orthopedic Outpatient Center, demonstrating his dedication to improving patient care and operational excellence. Currently, as Division Chief of Spine Surgery at Washington University, Dr. Neuman is focused on upholding the division's strong international reputation and expanding its status as a world-renowned center for sub-specialized spine care. Dr. Neuman’s leadership, clinical acumen, and dedication to advancing spinal surgery continue to make a profound impact on the field and on the lives of his patients.
Jean Branscum
Jean has championed the mission of the Montana Medical Association, advocating for physicians and being an essential voice for their patients, for the past 13 years. As the CEO, she oversees administrative operations and member services ensuring alignment with strategic goals, supporting professional excellence and the advancement of medical science. A significant portion of her time is devoted to leading advocacy efforts, having impactful influence on state and national regulatory and legislative proposals and bills that impact the practice of medicine or health of patients. Highlights of her 13 years with the MMA include the launch of a Health Professional Leadership Effectiveness Program, passage of prior authorization accountability legislation, serving as the lead in the establishment of the statewide health information exchange, and formation of the Montana Professional Health and Wellbeing Program.
Prior to her current position, Jean was a state government employee for 20 years. During that time, she was a Policy Advisor for Governors Marc Racicot and Judy Martz, Deputy Secretary of State under Brad Johnson, and Executive Director of the Board of Medical Examiners.
Joshua Klatt, M.D.
Dr. Klatt isn't just a great doctor - he's also known for going above and beyond to care for his patients. His dedication and compassion have earned him the title of Physician of the Year not once, but twice, in 2013 and 2023 by Primary Children's Hospital. He's always looking for new ways to make his patients feel better, and his commitment to their well-being is truly remarkable. Dr. Klatt specializes in treating bone and joint problems in children, especially crooked spines and hip issues. After becoming a doctor at Pennsylvania State University, he continued his learning journey at the University of Utah, Primary Children’s Hospital and Shriners Clinic for Children. Dr. Klatt is so passionate about helping kids that he even won an award for his research! He's always eager to learn more, which is why he traveled all the way to New Zealand to gain advanced training. Now, he works at the University of Utah Orthopedics and loves seeing kids at Primary Children's Hospital and Shriners Clinic for Children in Salt Lake City. In addition to seeing patients, he's also involved in lots of cool studies to find even better ways to help kids feel better.
Richard Myers, M.D.
Dr. Myers brings a new type of expertise due to his training at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, which allows him to care for all traumatic musculoskeletal injuries including those of the upper extremities, lower extremities, and pelvis/acetabulum (hip socket). Of the varied nature of his work in the field of orthopedic trauma, he has also developed skills in complex joint replacement, limb salvage techniques, and tendon repair/reconstruction in addition to fracture work.
His broad skill set includes fracture fixation, soft tissue repair, complex joint replacement and reconstruction, and bone infection treatment.
Dr. Myers grew up in the Philadelphia area but has moved back and forth across this great country several times! He completed his undergraduate work at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg Virginia, then moved to the San Juan Islands for a year, pursued medical school on the east coast, residency back in Portland, OR, and fellowship then back in Baltimore, MD.
He currently resides in Montana after leaving a high acuity, high-paced orthopedic trauma position in Coastal Virginia working at hospitals in Norfolk & Virginia Beach.
Patrick Denard, M.D.
Dr. Denard is a top shoulder surgeon in the United States and voted among the top 20 in North America. With over 7,000 shoulder surgeries, he specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive management, developing techniques to repair previously considered “irreparable” tears, and performing anatomic and reverse shoulder replacements.
James Huntley, M.D.
Dr. Huntley is an Attending in pediatric orthopedics. He joined the University of Utah in 2023, and practices at Primary Children's Hospital, Salt Lake City. He attended Oxford and Cambridge Universities for medicine, and a Full Blue in Rugby League (OURLFC). He did his orthopaedic residency in Edinburgh and fellowship at the Starship Hospital New Zealand. He worked as an attending surgeon in Glasgow, Scotland for 10 years, and then at Sidra Medicine in Qatar for 6 years. He was an ABC Traveling Fellow in 2012. He has published over 140 papers and chapters, a number of essays, one sonnet and 3 academic textbooks: Pediatric Orthopaedics – an evidence-based approach to clinical questions (2017), The pediatric and adolescent hip – essentials and evidence (2019), and Storytelling in Medicine: how narrative improves practice (2023).
Julia Quirion, M.D.
Dr. Quirion grew up in Prescott, Arizona. She attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, where she was a cheerleader in addition to studying physiology and psychology. She earned her medical degree at University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix. Following this, she completed her orthopedic surgery residency in Greenville, South Carolina. While in residency, she developed a passion for orthopedic oncology and completed her orthopedic oncology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Afterwards, she completed an orthopedic trauma fellowship in Auckland, New Zealand, where she also worked with the New Zealand Sarcoma Center. She moved to Montana to start the orthopedic oncology program at the Billings Clinic, where she provides comprehensive musculoskeletal cancer care to the community. She has an interest in global surgery and has worked with local physicians in Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Burundi. Julia and her husband William enjoy hiking, skiing, building tiny homes, travelling, and spending time outdoors with their German Shepherd.
